While we're not sure what Beatrix Potter would make of the jazzed up tone of the film, Sony has pushed ahead with its version of Peter Rabbit, a live-action/CG hybrid that retells the classic tale of a mischievous bunny and the human who can't stand his antics. The first trailer is online and can be watched below.

Featuring James Corden as the voice of Peter, the new Rabbit comes from director Will Gluck, who has injected the usual sense of hyper-kinetic action, contemporary references and a poppy soundtrack, along with expanding out the story.

Here, Peter's feud with Mr. McGregor (Domhnall Gleeson) escalates to greater heights than ever, as seen with the rabbit and his animal pals essentially ruining McGregor's house via a wild party. We're mostly choosing to see it as an origin story for Gleeson's Star Wars: The Force Awakens character General Hux – why else would he chose to build a massive weapon to wipe out life if he wasn't pissed off to find a pig on his sofa?

Featuring Rose Byrne in the live-action cast and Margot Robbie, Elizabeth Debicki, and Daisy Ridley voicing triplets Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cottontail, the film will be out in March.
