Hugh Jackman, Zoe Saldana And Zach Galifianakis On For Laika’s Latest Animated Movie

Having enjoyed plenty of success with its previous four films, animation studio Laika is pushing ahead with its fifth. And, in the midst of an announcement that Annapurna Pictures will take over distribution for this film in the States comes word that Hugh Jackman, Zoe Saldana and Zach Galifianakis are leading the voice cast.

No details have been released about what is only known right now as Film Five, but Chris Butler is directing what is described by the company as a globetrotting comedy adventure "bursting with humor, heart, and a profound message of acceptance and finding one's place."

"Our next film represents an evolutionary shift for LAIKA," says Laika boss Travis Knight. "It's an exciting bridge to our future. Director Chris Butler and the wizards at LAIKA have crafted a moving work of art, layered with wit and imagination and soul. Plus it's really, really funny." We're still waiting to learn when this one will be released.

Jackman will next pop up in political biopic The Front Runner, while Saldana is back on our screens this week in Avengers: Infinity War. Galifianakis, last seen in A Wrinkle In Time has a new season of his TV comedy, Baskets, due next year.
