As he prepares to start marshaling the military madness for his next film, Midway, Roland Emmerich is building the cast. Deadpool's Ed Skrein is the latest recruit.
Woody Harrelson, Luke Evans, Mandy Moore and recent recruit Patrick Wilson are already in the cast for this one, which is set during the Battle of Midway during World War II. Considered a turning point in the Pacific Theater of operations, it occurred just six months after Pearl Harbor, in June 1942. America struck back against Japan at sea and in the air, inflicting devastating damage on the country's fleet.
While we know what most of the cast will be up to, Skrein's role is unknown, according to Variety.
Wes Tooke wrote the script, and Emmerich is gearing up to start the cameras rolling next month. Skrein will be back in bad guy form for Alita: Battle Angel, which is out on 26 December.
