Dave Bautista's career has been soaring since he scored the role of Drax in Guardians Of The Galaxy and brought him back in winning style for the sequel. But while he's either been part of ensembles or played smaller parts in big films, Bautista is now working with Valiant Comics to develop Eternal Warrior as a potential starring role.

The Wrap has confirmed what the actor himself tweeted recently, that he's working on the initial stages of the film.

Originally published in 1992, Valiant's Eternal Warrior follows the battles of Gilad Anni-Padda, an immortal fighter who has protected the Earth for more than 10,000 years. He uses any number of weapons and is trained in long forgotten martial arts, guided by the Geomancers who speak for the planet.

It's still early days for the project – Valiant wouldn't go on the record about it, but Bautista's enthusiasm speaks volumes. He'll next be seen in Bushwick (out the 25th of this month), Blade Runner 2049 (6 October), and is bringing Drax to Avengers: Infinity War, due here on 26 April next year.
