Switching gears from the martial arts action in The Raid and its sequel, writer/director Gareth Evans has already lined up Empire spirit animal Dan Stevens to star in Apostle. He's rounding out the cast with Michael Sheen, Lucy Boynton, Bill Millner and Kristine Froseth.

The plot for Evans' latest sees Stevens as a man who travels to a remote island in an attempt to rescue his sister when she's kidnapped by a religious cult. But when the group demands a ransom for the woman's return, he finds his resolve challenged. Deadline's report offers no details on what the new arrivals will be playing, but part of us would be thrilled to see Sheen playing a charismatic, yet dangerous cult leader.

And that's not the only news about the film, as Netflix has snapped up global distribution rights, meaning that it'll likely have a smaller theatrical run, but will available anywhere Netflix is on screens. Evans will start the cameras rolling next month.
