As Sony finally pulls the idea of a new Men In Black movie out of development limbo and actually sets it on a track to be made, the studio is looking to find a star. And the first person in early talks to star is Chris Hemsworth.
F. Gary Gray is close to making a deal to direct the film, which will be set in the MIB universe but won't directly use the likes of Will Smith's Agent J or Tommy Lee Jones' Agent K. We wouldn't rule out a potential cameo by one or both, though (except maybe in Jones' case). The idea here is to go the Jurassic World route: continuity in the movie universe, but with a brand new cast.
And The Hollywood Reporter has also dug up basic details on the new characters, with sources pointing to a white dude (Hemsworth, if he signs), a black woman and an older man, in a story set in London.
Matt Holloway and Art Macum wrote the script that has gotten the new movie to this point, which still boasts a planned release date for June 2019. As for Hemsworth, he's certainly proved his comedy chops alongside his action skills, so he could be a sensible move. He'll be back on our screens in Avengers: Infinity War, due out on 27 April.
