Ben Affleck teases a new DC movies villain

Deathstroke in DC comics

Ben Affleck is not necessarily the man you might expect to be posting tease-filled Twitter videos, but since he took up Batman's cowl, this has been part of his world. Affleck put up a video of one of DC's iconic baddies (you can check out Affleck's Deathstroke video here), and now The Wrap has learned that the lethal character will be the main antagonist in the actor/writer/director's planned stand-alone Batman movie.

Created by Marv Wolfman and George Perez, Deathstroke first appeared in Teen Titans #2 in 1980. Slade Wilson (as his family knows him) is an assassin and a mercenary, and while he's more often found in the Green Arrow's rogue's gallery – and has turned up on the DC TV series – he has crossed Batman's path several times. Their memorable first meeting was in a 1991 Deathstroke comic story arc titled City Of Assassins, where Deathstroke beat the Dark Knight to a pulp.

There's no indication yet as to whether Affleck's video means Deathstroke will be introduced in the Justice League movie before heading to the solo Batman outing, so we'll have to wait and see on that front. That film, directed by Zack Snyder, will be with us on November 17 next year.
