Original Title:

uwantme2killhim?

Teenager Mark (Jamie Blackley) is arrested after a stabbing, then tells the investigating officer (Joanne Froggatt) that he is a hero... which brings up a complex story involving school misfit John (Toby Regbo), Mark’s online relationship with John’s missing, perhaps-murdered sister (Jaime Winstone), an odd MI5 agent (Liz White) and a possible terrorist plot. Based on a true-life incident from 2003, this is a fascinating story ploddingly directed by Andrew Douglas. It awkwardly has folk talk to their computers as they type and struggle with the sinister possibilities of a now-bygone pre-Facebook era of chatrooms and webcams.

Interesting material let down by the occasionally pedestrian direction.
