Original Title:

Stranger Within, The

In 1974 Kate Jackson's son is kidnapped and disappears without trace. Then, 16 years on, a young man turns up on her door-step claiming to be that long lost child.

More of a mother and son soap opera than the horror film suggested on the box top ("He's about to sever his family ties!"), this eventually delivers the regulation bout of grabbing the knife and popping up again after being killed, but until then it's mostly heartfelt scenes between Mom and her loved one with both her new boyfriend and your luckless reviewer looking on.

Usual made-for-TV family drama fodder
