Nobody asked for an American answer to Michael Winner's much-reviled Parting Shots but, for our sins, Mel Gibson has given us one. Directed with preposterous solemnity by Gibson's former hairstylist, Paparazzi pits implausibly named action hero Bo Laramie (Hauser) against four villainous paparazzi employed by a scandal rag called, for ease of identification, Paparazzi.
When these sleazeballs cause a car crash that puts his son in a coma, what can Bo do but embark on a bloody vigilante killing spree, using more Machiavellian cunning than you'd expect from the star of Adrenaline Force and Adrenaline Force 2? Morally iffy, you say? Apparently not. The makers of this ugly monument to superstar self-pity expect us to applaud Mel's - sorry, Bo's - every move. It's Death Wish for multi-millionaires.
