As the title indicates, this surprise US number one finds an engaging twist on the happily ever after formula of recent teen romantic comedy by taking marriage as the starting point rather than the finishing post.
However, once the newlyweds embark on a jinxed honeymoon in Europe, a catalogue of disasters means that the marital status of Tom (Kutcher) and Sarah (Murphy) is destined to disintegrate quicker than you can say 'Drew Barrymore'. The real-life couple status of the duo ensures the on-screen chemistry is potent and, although individually the characters (spoilt rich girl and everyday Joe) are two-dimensional, they strike sparks off each other when together.
The husky-voiced Murphy is endearingly kooky, further demonstrating why she might yet compete with Kirsten Dunst and Reese Witherspoon in the lead-lady stakes.
