Diary Of A Wimpy Kid: Roderick Rules Review

Last year's first adaptation of Jeff Kinney’s comic novel series met with success, so it’s no surprise this sequel sticks to the formula like school paste. This time the focus is even more on hapless hero Greg Heffley’s (Zachary Gordon) family, as he’s challenged to spend time with annoying slacker/wannabe rocker older brother Rodrick (Devon Bostik). There’s the usual guff about appreciating your siblings while trying not to kill them for messing with you, and Heffley’s other quest is to impress new girl Holly (Peyton List) before she finds out he’s a big ol’ nerd. But the game young cast (minus Chloe Moretz, who has gone on to bigger things) bring plenty of charm and the whole affair bubbles along without ever feeling forced.
