This month’s direct-to-video Die Hard rip off stars Thomas Ian Griffith as a cop, brooding over the deaths of his family, who coincidentally runs into the Mafia don who ordered his wife and kids killed and (ital) the mad German who did the dirty deed, at a mountain resort.

The plot twists and turns, including a plan to set up a bogus avalanche, and Griffith responds with formula heroism. Sniggering baddie Christopher Plummer and disposable love interest Nastassja Kinski do little to spruce up a strictly no-frills effort.

As duff as the title would suggest.
