Code Name: The Cleaner

It is difficult to fathom what the director and writers were thinking when they embarked on the treacherous road to this catastrophe of a spy comedy.

If they aimed to send up the Bourne trilogy’s amnesia-based plot, the team have failed miserably. If they set out to make a jolly crime caper with a larger-than-life central character, they once again have missed the mark - with heinous imprecision.

Laughs, it seems, are considered completely irrelevant throughout, Cedric The Entertainer as the titular Cleaner is consistently unfunny and the likes of Lucy Liu and Nicollette Sheridan can’t do anything to stop the rot.

A prime candidate for Worst Movie Of 2007.
