Zombieland fans, prepare to get happy - you'll get your sequel, and it'll be in 3D to boot.

Yes, the news first bubbled up during the quiet Thanksgiving period last week when Moviehole talked to director Ruben Fleischer about plans to follow up the zombie comedy hit.

And now comes word that Sony is pushing ahead with the idea, setting up deals with Fleischer, producer Gavin Polone to return, and hiring the film's writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick to crank out the sequel's screenplay.

But it wouldn't be Zombieland without Woody Harrelson's cocky Tallahassee and Jessie Eisenberg's Columbus, so the studio is busy negotiating with the actors to return alongside, we fervently hope, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin.

"Everyone had fun watching the first Zombieland; making it a more visceral experience can only make it better," says Polone. "I don't think you want to see Ordinary People in 3-D. But Zombieland is clearly one movie that will benefit from the technique."

When we'll actually see it is anyone's guess - the storyline is still in flux and no one has cleared space in their diaries for a shoot just yet. But based on how much fun the first film turned out to be, we just hope they strike while the iron is still hot.
