Euphoria creator Sam Levinson and the show's star, Zendaya made headlines for working on Malcolm & Marie, which ended up being one of the movies that was able to shoot during the pandemic, using a small crew, all the union-mandated safety protocols and a fast production. Netflix snapped it up, and the trailer is now online.
Malcolm & Marie finds a filmmaker (John David Washington) and his girlfriend (Zendaya) who return home following a celebratory movie premiere as he awaits what’s sure to be imminent critical and financial success. The evening suddenly takes a turn as revelations about their relationships begin to surface, testing the strength of their love.
It's certainly full of passion and pain, and the idea of two of the acting world's rising stars sparring certainly has appeal. We'll see how it works when the movie arrives on Netflix on 5 February.
