The MTV Movie Awards have announced their nominations for the 2003 show with The Lord of the Rings and Spider-Man fighting it out for the top spot with 5 nominations each. The two blockbusters will fight it out for Best Movie, against 8 Mile, Barbershop and The Ring. Best Male Performance nods went to Eminem, Vin Diesel, Leonardo DiCaprio, Toby Maguire and Viggo Mortensen, while Kirsten Dunst, Reese Witherspoon, Halle Berry, Kate Hudson and Queen Latifah are all up for Best Female Performance. In the categories you'd only find at the MTV Awards, Best Virtual Performance will be contested by Yoda, Kangeroo Jack, Gollum, Dobby and Scooby-Doo while Best Kiss nominees include Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst for Spider-Man and Britain's very own Emily Watson and Adam Sandler in Punch-drunk Love.
