Wrong Turn

In 2003, Wrong Turn featured a clan of cannibals hunting down unwary travellers in the woods of West Virginia. That original thriller, which starred Eliza Dushku and Desmond Harrington, was successful enough to spawn five sequels. Now Constantin Film has original scriptwriter Alan McElroy aboard to work on a remake of the first movie.

Mike P. Nelson is aboard to direct a film that Deadline has heard will be "a timely and topical meditation on society and its issues." The setup will be similar in that a cross-country hiking expedition puts a group of friends in danger. They come across an inclusive society, where they soon discover they are under a different rule of law, and may not be the victims they thought they were...

There's no word yet on when this one will be shooting, or whether franchise mainstay Three Finger will make an appearance, but casting is happening now.
