It’s official: Doug Jones IS The Silver Surfer in the Fantastic Four sequel.
The Hellboy creature actor has signed on to The Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer alongside Weta Digital, which is bringing over the Gollum technology from LOTR to capture Jones’ performance and movement for the liquid metal herald of Galactus.
Sadly for Doug – and unlike Gollum’s Andy Serkis – it looks like 20th Century Fox will be replacing his voice work (as Columbia did on Hellboy), though that hasn’t been confirmed.
Jones will next be seen (and his voice heard - speaking Spanish, no less) in regular collaborator Guillermo Del Toro’s Pan’s Labyrinth, which will be in cinemas on 24 November.
