The previously announced rom com Definitely, Maybe just got a big boost of beauty. Yes, Ryan Reynolds is in the … Wait, no… Sorry.

Slither’s Elizabeth Banks and The Constant Gardener’s Rachel Weisz are signing on to the comedy, which sees Ryan Reynolds’ political consultant trying to justify his womanising past to his 11-year-old daughter. Banks will play his college love who left him for his brother – only to come swooning back into his arms two years later. Weisz is aboard as a woman he dates after Banks ditches him.

Also in the cast are Isla Fisher and Derek Luke, and writer-director Adam Brooks is pushing the film through pre-production.

Meanwhile Banks has also been cast in Chrimbo comedy Joe Claus, alongside Vince Vaughn, Paul Giamatti and Kevin Spacey. She’ll be playing the main squeeze for Joe (Vince), a well-organised member of Santa’s Little Helpers.
