Since Wedding Crashers hit it big, everyone wants to make a marriage comedy. And now there’s a new film with a couple in trouble even before they reach the church.

Warners has signed Mandy Moore and Robin Williams to star in Licence To Wed, which follows the misadventures of a young couple trying to get hitched. Their romantic bliss is rudely interrupted when the family minister (Williams) of the girl’s family church forces them to complete a two-week pre-nuptial course for permission to marry. The groom fails and loses his lady love, but battles to win her back.

There’s no word on who will yet play the unlucky man, but Jarhead’s John Krasinski, currently to be seen in the American version of The Office, is in negotiations for the role. Ken Kwapis (Sisterhood Of The Travelling Pants) plans to direct the film in May, shooting in Mexico and LA.
