Adpating Tom Perotta's book

Writer Tom Perotta’s books are becoming a little habit forming for Hollywood. Election and the upcoming Little Children were both taken from his work and now Warner Independent Pictures has grabbed the rights to his new book The Abstinence Teacher.

It’s a quirky tale of divorced sex education teacher pressured into lecturing on abstinence to her pupils, when all she really wants to do is keep promoting the joys of the beast with two backs. In the midst of her struggle to get shagging back into the classroom (not literally, unless her plan includes practical demonstrations as in Monty Python’s The Meaning Of Life), she falls for a born-again football coach.

Perotta will be working on whoever directs the film to write the screenplay, but there’s no helmer attached just yet.
