While the DC movie universe has largely been on pause during the pandemic (aside from the likes of Wonder Woman 1984's hybrid cinema/HBO Max release), Warner Bros. and its comic book arm are still developing new films to add to the roster. According to Deadline, the latest character aiming to make the leap is Hourman.

Originally created by Ken Fitch and Bernard Baily in 1940 and first appearing in the Stargirl comics, the hero had three different incarnations, with the first one featuring chemist Rex Tyler. He created a new synthesis, “Miraclo,” which grants him super-strength and endurance, but only for one hour. Rex’s son Rick Tyler would later become the hero, ultimately becoming the most popular Hourman as the years went on.

Gavin James and Neil Widener are at work on the script for the movie, which has yet to announce which version of the character will hit the big screen. DC has been looking to put Hourman on screen for a while, including a series featuring Rex Tyler that never made it out of development for the CW. Still, he did pop up as part of Legends Of Tomorrow for a brief run early on. And, traditionally, he's been a part of the Justice Society Of America, which will feature in Black Adam, so there's crossover potential there, too.

As far as current DC projects (or re-imagined older ones), Zack Snyder's Justice League is about the hit the world.
