Greg Nicotero has a history of coming up with ways to scare people, and has been enjoying a successful second chapter of his career as one of the main producers and directors on The Walking Dead. He's maintaining the horror feel for a new project, a streaming series version of horror anthology pic Creepshow.
The original version arrived in cinemas back in 1982, with Nicotero's old collaborator George A. Romero directing and Stephen King writing a script that drew from the classic EC comics of the 1950s. Walking Dead channel AMC has commissioned a new anthology series based on the idea for its streaming service Shudder. Each episode will have different creators, with Nicotero directing the initial instalment, consulting on others and providing creature and make-up effects via his KNB company.
"Creepshow is a project very close to my heart! It is one of those titles that embraces the true spirit of horror... thrills and chills celebrated in one of its truest art forms, the comic book come to life! I’m honored to continue the tradition in the ‘spirit’ in which it was created," Nicotero says.
There is no information on exactly when it'll hot the service, but according to Variety, it should launch next year.
