There’s fresh casting news for David Cronenberg’s London-set thriller Eastern Promises.
Vincent Cassel has agreed to play Petrid, a Russian whose family owns a brothel in the city. The plot of the previously announced film has Naomi Watts’ nurse investigating the death of a young Russian prostitute who dies in childbirth. She discovers a Russian police sting trying to take down a major Mafia prostitution ring.
Cronenberg is scheduled to start shooting in London this November, with Viggo Mortensen also on board.
