Vincent Cassel Joins The New Bourne Film

With shooting set to kick off soon, Paul Greengrass is busily gathering the remaining cast for the next, as-yet-untitled Jason Bourne collaboration with Matt Damon. He now has a primary nemesis in line for our hero, with Vincent Cassel putting the film in its sights.

Exactly what he’ll be doing remains a secret for now, though Variety’s sources have heard he’ll be an assassin in the vein of Clive Owen and Edgar Ramirez, who have been among those to tussle with Bourne through the franchise to date.

He joins a cast that already includes Julia Stiles (back as Nicky), Alicia Vikander and Tommy Lee Jones for a fresh Bourne outing whose plot is likewise being kept quiet. Damon, who is working on the film alongside Greengrass and the director’s co-writer Christopher Rouse, recently alluded to this film exploring a post-Edward Snowden world and one that has been hit hard by financial collapse and austerity.

The new film will arrive in UK cinemas on July 29 next year, having shot in Greece and Las Vegas, among other locales. Cassel, last seen here in** Child 44**, will next show up in the likes of Partisan, Mon roi and Xavier Dolan’s It’s Only The End Of The World.
