The first pictures from the new Vince Vaughn-starring thriller Brawl In Cell Block 99 arrived earlier this month. Ahead of the film's Venice Film Festival debut, here's the teaser trailer.
Despite its title, this first proper look at the movie would seem to pose more of a threat to vehicles than people, as the focus is on Vaughn's former boxer Bradley dishing out the sort of punishment to his car that Basil Fawlty (or Logan) can only dream of.
The thriller follows his story as his life is slowly deteriorating. He's just lost his job at a car repair garage and his marriage is less on the rocks, more shipwrecked. As a last shot, he agrees to work for an old friend as a drug courier and that helps his finances, but leads him into real danger as he ends up in a gunfight between the police and his allies. Dragged off to the slammer, he soon finds himself having to defend himself as his enemies look to take him down...
Brawl In Cell Block 99 comes from Bone Tomahawk writer/director S. Craig Zahler and we're hoping for a new spin on some old ideas here. We'll have to wait to see it as, outside of its festival screenings, the movie has yet to find a release date.
