Update: Vin Diesel continues to post xXx: The Return Of Xander Cage progress on his megahorn Facebook page, and along with a couple of skateboard-centric snaps, the above is the latest. Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone is his companion. Note also the "Barca BC" on Vin's underwear, which is, if nothing else, a novel way to keep teasing his long-developing Hannibal project.

Reliable PR trumpet Vin Diesel is at it again even as he starts work on unexpected xXx sequel The Return Of Xander Cage. Hitting Facebook after the first few days of filming, he's posted two pictures from the set of the new film.

xXx: The Return Of Xander Cage images

The first should probably come with one of those "don't try this at home" warnings, showing Diesel and a motocross bike hanging from wires in front of a green screen with a bikini-clad young woman straddling the bike's handlebars. It's definitely not safe to have a green screen that size in your living room, so please be advised.

It's just the sort of stunt you might expect from Cage, even if it does make you question just how much of an extreme stunt he could carry out with someone on the front of the bike. Still, we'll have to see.

The second image is much less exciting: really just Diesel, director D.J. Caruso and some of the producers sitting around on the set as Diesel (in his post's text) extols the hard work the set team has put into their surroundings.

xXx: The Return Of Xander Cage promises much more than nicely crafted sets – we're told to expect lots of the usual action stuff and the potential for more than one team of agents to go up against each other. With Samuel L. Jackson returning and Nina Dobrev, Ruby Rose, Jet Li, Tony Jaa and Toni Collette aboard, the film is aiming for a 2017 release.
