If getting pretty darn nasty in A History Of Violence wasn’t enough, Viggo Mortenson is now set to return to high-level bad-doings, when he reunites with David Cronenberg in his new pic Eastern Promises. Naomi Watts will star as Anna, a midwife who stumbles upon a string of clues which fling her into the centre of Nikolai’s (Mortenson) criminally inclined family. Dark and violent shenanigans are poised to follow.
Filming is due to begin in London this week, with Dirty Pretty Things acreenwriter Steven Knight providing the script and Armin Mueller-Stahl, Vincent Cassel, Sinead Cusack, Jerzy Skolimowski and Donald Sumpter all set to appear on screen when the movie is released next year.
