Vera Farmiga On For Indie Western

Vera Farmiga – last seen seducing George Clooney in Up The Air (and bagging an Oscar nomination in the process) is strapping on six-shooters to star in a Western. She’s signed on to lead A Thousand Guns for Prominent Pictures.

Farmiga will play a preacher’s wife named Martha Jane Feuer who is on a quest for revenge after her child is murdered. But she’s hampered by a strange gypsy woman and a demonic gun. Sounds like something Sam Raimi would dream up...

Russell Friedenberg wrote the script and Spanish director Daniel Calparsoro will be in the big folding chair. There’s no word on when it’ll start shooting, particularly as Farmiga’s schedule is fairly busy between acting as Wallis Simpson in abdication tale WE and making her directorial debut with religious drama Higher Ground.
