Val Kilmer Joins Silver Cord

Val Kilmer is keeping himself busy in the indie field, with the news that he's signed up to star in Silver Cord, to add another name to the ten films in production he's already associated with. But more exciting is the fact that the film marks a return feature engagement for Shane West, one of the casualties of the Great League of Extraordinary Gentlemen tragedy of '03.

The film's director and co-writer is James Ordonez, and tells the story of his brother, who was declared clinically dead several times before finally dying for good in 2004. There's no other news on the plot yet, so we don't know what was wrong with him. Some terrible disease, drugs, a heart complaint, or perhaps he was one of the living dead - we may never know, at least until the film comes out.

Eric Balfour, Arielle Kebbel and Cam Gigandet (surely not a real name) will also be starring, with production due to begin in September even if there's an actor's strike (the film landed a waiver. Nice work!)
