In the Deadpool-est of all Deadpool moves, after two 15-rated outings that laid the gore and gross-out gags on thick, cinema’s most deeply inappropriate superhero is getting a family-friendly release just in time for Christmas. Once Upon A Deadpool is set to present a ‘PG-13’ take on this summer’s Deadpool 2, with a bonus wrap-around story involving Fred Savage (formerly the kid from The Princess Bride) being read a bedtime story by the merc with a mouth.

The film has now been given a UK release date – and it’s hitting cinemas for one night only on 11 December, one day before it arrives in America. The re-release will raise money for the Fuck Cancer campaign (which will be renamed ‘Fudge Cancer’ during the film’s release), with $1 from every ticket sale going to the charity. “Fox has been asking for a PG-13 basically since the start in 2006,” Ryan Reynolds said of the new version. “I’ve said no since 2006. Now, this one time, I said 'Yes' on two conditions. First, a portion of the proceeds had to go to charity. Second, I wanted to kidnap Fred Savage. The second condition took some explaining…”
