Unstoppable Trailer Powers In

Remember when we talked recently about Tony Scott preferring movies where things blowed up real good? Well, his latest attempt at thrilling us, runaway train pic Unstoppable, has just shoved its first trailer on to the Magical Interwebs’ content delivery tracks.

Loosely based on a true story, Unstoppable follows what happens when a freight train chugging along with gallons of toxic materials is suddenly minus a driver, and speeding out of control towards a town, where, if it should derail (or otherwise be destroyed), it’ll contaminate everything for miles around.

Fortunately, grizzled rail veteran Denzel Washington and new pup operator Chris Pine are on the case, and hatch a plan to hook an engine to the back of the loco locomotive to try to bring it to a halt. Their bosses think they’re crazy. But it might… just… work.

The trailer certainly promises a lot of high-octane hi-jinks, and it appears that Pine and the Denz have some decent chemistry as the heroic leads. Plus the lovely Rosario Dawson gets to spew the destined-for-classic-quoteage line, “We’re not just talking about a train… We’re talking about a MISSILE the size of the Chrysler Building!” And… we’re hooked.

Unstoppable crashes into cinemas on Friday November 12.
