Remember, way back when Friends was not only still running but was actually funny, the episode where Ross had to choose between Chandler and Joey for the role of best man at his wedding to Emily? No?

Well, it was a good ‘un – and today Universal has picked up the comedy spec script, Best Man-a-thon, which is essentially the same idea, stretched out to feature length.

Richard Rapozo wrote the script, which sees two buddies battle it out to be the best man at their mate’s upcoming wedding. It sounds like a male variation on the forthcoming comedy, Bride Wars, to our educated ears. Since that’s not out yet, we’re not sure if that’s a good or a bad thing.

Scott Stuber will produce the comedy, along with Pam Abdy.
