Gabrielle Union must be hoping for a change of luck soon. After appearing in the awful Honeymooners last year and signing up for the quickly cancelled Night Stalker TV remake, she’s finally signed up to make some films that people will actually want to see.

Union has already finished work on Running With Scissors, and she’s now also joined the cast of US box office smash Tyler Perry's next film. The man who wrote, directed, starred in and co-produced Diary Of A Mad Black Woman and Madea’s Family Reunion has chosen Daddy’s Little Girl as his next film.

It tells the story of a successful lawyer (Union) who falls in love with a janitor who happens to be a single father of three children. This causes problems between her and her dad, who was hoping she’d find a rich husband. Perry has planned a summer shoot in his native Atlanta.
