Richard Linklater has described his latest, Everybody Wants Some!! (which is how it's always written, aside, confusingly from the poster below) as a "spiritual sequel" to his 1993 hit Dazed And Confused. And you can certainly feel that vibe in this new UK trailer, which offers NSFW footage from the movie.
Premiering, somewhat unsurprisingly at the SXSW film festival in the director's home state of Texas, the new film is set in the world of 1980s college life, and follows a freshman’s (Blake Jenner) first weekend of college, experiencing a fraternity-like lifestyle with his hard-partying baseball teammates as they navigate their way through the freedoms and responsibilities of unsupervised adulthood. Yes, while there are strict rules to be followed, most of them are quickly broken in a hedonistic excess of booze, sex and drugs.
Linklater has an eye for acting talent, and has assembled a fresh-faced cast around Jenner here, including Zoey Deutch, Tyler Hoechlin, Ryan Guzman, Wyatt Russell, Dora Madison, Glen Powell, Will Brittain and Austin Amelio.
Everybody Wants Some!! is out in the UK on May 13.
