Two More For X-Files Sequel

Mulder: Scully, two more actors have joined the X-Files sequel, The X-Files 2.

Scully: That’s impossible.

Mulder: No, really. It’s true. Callum Keith Rennie and British actor Adam Godley have joined the cast of the Chris Carter-directed movie.

Scully: I don’t believe you.

Mulder: But it’s here, Dana, in black and white, on Empire Online, the greatest film website in the known universe. It’s real. It’s happening.

Scully (putting fingers in her ears): Does it say who they’re playing?

Mulder: Erm, no.

Scully: So, how do you know it’s true?

Mulder: I just know, Scully. The truth is out there.

Scully: Oh, for God’s sake, Fox. I need a drink.

Mulder: Scully? Scully? SCULLY?!? SCULLLLLLLLLLY!

Yes, it’s true folks – Callum Keith Rennie, who you might remember from the third season of Paul Haggis’ TV show, Due South, and British actor Adam Godley (Mr. TeeVee in Tim Burton’s Charlie And The Chocolate Factory) have signed on to play alongside David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson in the X-Files sequel, which is currently shooting in Vancouver.

But Empire is currently more perturbed by the fact that, as of this moment, there’s been no news on the status of Mitch Pileggi, whose turn as FBI Assistant Director Walter Skinner is an indelible fan favourite and, you’d think, would be a shoo-in for the new movie. But so far, there’s been zip.

What do you think, readers? Is this an oversight and is Pileggi already beavering away on the movie, without an announcement in a trade making it official? Or is Pileggi waiting by the phone, or reading stories like this, before exploding in a rage (“The guy from DUE SOUTH?!? And not even the good one, the one with the wolf? What the HELL is going on?!? ARGGGGH!”) and ripping out his computer before throwing it against the wall? Should Skinner be in the new X-Files movie?
