Two New Red State Posters Pushed Online

Kevin Smith’s on a roll with his charity poster auctions, in which he invites his Twitter followers and fans across the web to bid for the chance to host the character images from his latest film, the horror thriller Red State.

Now two new offerings have arrived, one that continues the current running theme of religious concepts (there has been "The Virgin," we’ve had “The Father,”“The Sons” are below and the teaser poster’s sheeted figure could be a representation of “The Holy Ghost”). You can see the new posters in our gallery below.

First up is the rather dodgily named P***y Eating Club (we’d offer a warning up front that while it seems only too appropriate given Kevin Smith’s comedic style during his podcasts and stage Q&As, the site is definitely NSFW and has fortunately opted to host the poster on a page away from its regular content). Thanks to the site donating $1700 to the Kenny Gordon Foundation, a charity run by **Red State **producer Jon Gordon, which supports various worthy causes, including scholarships.

“The Sons” features the three numbskulls who help kick off the film - Michael Angarano’s Travis, Nicholas Braun’s Billy Ray and Kyle Gallner’s character, whose name we have yet to learn – and who run into serious trouble with fundamentalist pastor Abin Cooper (Michael Parks) and his deeply devout, not to mention, twisted, clan.

One member of that clan is Caleb, played by DJ/comedian/actor Ralph Garman, who just so happens to be Smith’s co-host on the podcast Hollywood Babble-On.

The Caleb posted is hosted at Xcellent Creations, who bid $1800 to the Kenny Gordon Foundation for the Sons poster, but were offered Caleb when Smith didn’t see their bigger big in time. At least the good cause got more money…

**Red State **will be off to Sundance next month, looking to secure a distributor. And you can follow our reports on Smith’s series of filmmaking podcasts focused on the movie over at the Red State of Mind blog.
