We've had the **Lawless **trailer, we've had the rather stylish posters, we've had our Damon Wise's first reaction from the Cannes screening. Now here are two new clips from John Hillcoat's Depression-era drama, starring Tom Hardy, Shia LaBeouf, Jason Clark, Jessica Chastain and Mia Wasikowska.

The first clip, over with the good folks at EW, shows Hardy's Forrest butting heads against newcomer Charlie Rakes (Guy Pearce), a lawman brought in from the big city to get the rural moonshine problem under control. It's powerful, disturbing stuff - thanks chiefly to Pearce's appalling hair do and lack of eyebrows.

Then over at Hulu is a clip showing Forrest and brother Jack (LaBeouf) after the latter has been brutally beaten. Let's just say that Hardy's sibling ain't all that sympathetic.

Lawless is out in the UK on August 29. We'll be keeping an eye on it all the way; this one looks meaty.
