Beyond the return of Michael Bay to the director's chair, what we've mostly heard about the fifth Transformers film is that it was cooked up in a writers' room overseen by Akiva Goldsman. Now we have a title – and a treatment, shown off by a teaser video here to go along with it: Transformers: The Last Knight.

Not much has been officially announced about the new film, which has Mark Wahlberg returning as Cade Yeager, but the title seems to indicate we're either in for a little time travel or we're more likely meeting some legendary Cybertronian warrior. Perhaps Optimus Prime will be assuming some other form?

Outside the halls of Team Transformers, it's all so much speculation for now, but the film kicks off shooting on June 6, so we can expect more announcements soon, particularly via the movie's Instagram page. Transformers: The Last Knight is scheduled to hit the UK on June 23 2017.
