Cast your mind back to May of this year, when it was revealed that Joel Edgerton had written the script for, and planned to star in, a thriller called Felony. Things have progressed, and Tom Wilkinson is now lined up to co-star.

Felony, which Matthew Saville will direct from Edgerton’s work, finds a top cop (Edgerton) driving home after celebrating taking down a major gang. Unfortunately for the officer, he’d been drinking at the bash and when he runs a young cyclist off the road, he decides to lie about the incident.

Naturally, the cover-up doesn’t go quite as smoothly as he might hope, and soon Wilkinson’s dogged investigator is on scene and digging into the details of the accident. Cue a cat and mouse game as the two policemen try to outwit each other…

Wilkinson was last seen in The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol. He’s recently signed on period drama Belle and has shot World War II pic** Little Boy**. 2013 will find him playing a villainous role in The Lone Ranger, which lands here on July 5.
