Tom Shadyac, the man who brought us Bruce Almighty – and is currently working on follow-up Evan Almighty – has teamed with Universal to buy another script.
Magic 8 Ball – which has no plotline available beyond the fact that it concerns the fortune-telling toy – was written by Barry Blaustein and Jason Heffer.
If the comedy develops into something he likes the look of, Shadyac plans to direct it. Right now, though, he’s too busy controlling Steve Carrell’s massive Evan beard.
