There's a big change behind the scenes of George Miller's planned Mad Max: Fury Road spin-off/prequel Furiosa. With Yahya Abdul-Mateen II dropping out of the cast due to scheduling issues, Tom Burke will take his place.

Anya Taylor-Joy remains in place as the younger version of the Fury Road character, played in that film by Charlize Theron. And Chris Hemsworth is also still attached. Details on the character formerly played by Abdul-Mateen II and now Burke are nonexistent, but it sounds like a flexible one given the swap.

Miller is directing and co-writing/producing the new movie alongside Doug Mitchell. They're now in pre-production ready to shoot next year for a planned 2024 release.
