If your film features a giant ape, it makes sense to hire an actor with a bit of experience in the simian department. There’s no indication that Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes**’ Toby Kebbell will be back in performance capture gear for Kong: Skull Island, though{ =nofollow}.

He’s just the latest recruit for Jordan Vogt-Roberts monster movie, which already boasts Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson and Corey Hawkins among its cast, and may end up adding John C. Reilly, Tom Wilkinson and Samuel L. Jackson.

The film, which aims to kick off shooting late in October in Hawaii, finds an expedition headed to the mysterious, misty island, with the explorers looking to unlock its secrets, including the titular giant ape.** Jurassic World**co-writer Derek Connolly was recently hired to take a new pass at the script before it heads in front of cameras.

Kebbell has been in demand of late, though he might choose to forget playing Doctor Doom in the latest** Fantastic Four**. He’ll be seen in Gold, Ben-Hur, Warcraft and A Monster Calls.
