As The Crown rolls on through the time periods, the cast is going through its first big change as work on Season 3 gears up. With Olivia Colman in place as Queen Elizabeth II, Tobias Menzies has been cast as her husband, Prince Philip.

While Paul Bettany had been up for the job, he had to bow out due to scheduling issues, which means that Menzies, seen in shows such as Outlander and Game Of Thrones, is now taking it, signing on for the next two seasons. He succeeds Matt Smith.

Season 3 will also see Helena Bonham Carter joining the series as the Queen's more wayward sister, Princess Margaret.

In addition to his dual Outlander roles, Menzies is part of the cast for The Terror, which has just set sail on Stateside screens and will dock in the UK via AMC Global on 24 April.
