Titanic, originally predicted by experts to be a huge financial flop before its release, broke all US boxoffice records at the weekend by becoming the first film to top the $600 million mark. In doing so, it has broken through into a different sphere of earnings entirely - usually breaking the $100 million mark is considered a tremendous success for most movies.
