Tin Star is not, as the title might suggest, a new X-Factor-style talent contest for robots. It is in fact an epic new TV drama due to air on Sky Atlantic next year. Sky have just released the first two images.

Mad Men’s Christina Hendricks and The Hateful Eight’s [Tim Roth](Tim Roth News & Biography - Empire) lead up this ten-part thriller, set in the Canadian Rockies, which sees an expat British police officer (Roth) take a stand against an oil company fronted by the mysterious Mrs Bradshaw (Hendricks).

When the oil company brings organised crime to the sleepy remote town, violence on both sides ensues, and we’re promised a bloody revenge thriller as the series progresses.

Rowan Joffe (28 Weeks Later, The American) has written the show, and it is being produced by Kudos, the team behind awards-hoovering small-screen fare like Broadchurch and Humans.

Tin Star – no robots in sight – is due to air on Sky Atlantic at some point in 2017.
