Third Harold & Kumar Film Planned

They have already Got The Munchies, Gone To White Castle, Gone To Amsterdam and Escaped From Guantanamo - and all that in only two films, thanks to the titles changing every time they cross the Atlantic. But now Harold and Kumar face their toughest challenge yet - persuading us to care about a third instalment.

The first two films saw strangely charming stoners Harold (John Cho) and Kumar (Kal Penn) on the search first for the perfect fast-food burger to assuage their munchies and then for fresh supplies of weed in Amsterdam, only to run into endless obstacles on both occasions, from law enforcement to an E-ing Doogie Howser. However, since they were made for very little and took over $30 million at the US box office and more on DVD, perhaps a third film was inevitable.

Both Cho and Penn are likely to return, but there's no answer to the most important question yet. No, not what on Earth the plot will concern: it's about whether Neil Patrick Harris (aka the aforementioned Howser, aka Dr Horrible) will return to cameo once again. We can only hope so, and pray that he sings his lines this time. Maybe some sort of Harold & Kumar / Dr Horrible crossover?

Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, who wrote both films and directed the second, will be back to take on both jobs again.
