Things Go Ape For The Rock In The New Rampage Trailer

Rampage

We're getting two big-scale all-action movies from Dwayne Johnson this year, and first out of the gate is Rampage, which sees him dealing with the thorny issue of genetically-tinkered giant beasts going on... what's the word? Oh... it'll come to us.

Rampage (that's it!) features Johnson as a primatologist named Davis Okoye, a man who has trouble relating to humans, but has formed an inseparable bond with George, a smart silverback gorilla who he's cared for since rescuing the ape as an orphan.

But when a rogue genetic experiment mutates the gentle giant into a much bigger, raging creature, Davis has to go on the hunt for his pal, and confront similarly altered animals including a wolf and a reptile. It's all adapted from the classic video game of the same name and looks to feature plenty of crazy stunts and CG animal action.

Brad Peyton, who worked with The Rock on previous destructo-buster San Andreas, directs here from a script by Ryan Engle, Carlton Cuse & Ryan J. Condal and Adam Sztykiel. Naomie Harris, Malin Akerman, Jake Lacy and Jeffrey Dean Morgan are among the fellow humans dodging flying debris, and Rampage is due to smash into cinemas on 13 April.
