We've already brought you some exclusive shots of the Luther film adaptation that will see Idris Elba's grumpy 'tec John Luther breaking free of his usual London haunts for snowier climes (though that could have described the city last week). Now we have an official title for the film — Luther: The Fallen Sun and some new pics.
In the film, written by series creator Neil Cross and directed by Jamie Payne, a gruesome serial killer is terrorizing London while brilliant but disgraced detective John "looooofah" Luther sits behind bars. Haunted by his failure to capture the cyber psychopath who now taunts him, Luther decides to break out of prison to finish the job by any means necessary.
With Dermot Crowley back as DSU Martin Schenk, the cast includes Cynthia Erivo and Andy Serkis.
We don't have an exact date yet, but The Fallen Sun will arrive on Netflix, glowering at everyone, in March.
